We recommend cutting hedges once a year to keep them in great shape and maintain their size. Conifers are a great way to create a fast screen but if they aren’t maintained properly they can block alot of sunlight from entering your property. People often are confused about cutting hedges in bird nesting season (1 March-April), but you can carry out hedge cutting as long as there is no breeding activity. Before carrying out any work during bird nesting season we complete an observation from a distance and directly search the hedge to make sure there are no nests present. For larger sites we use the help of an ecologist to complete the observations.
Are you are looking for a hedge to be planted? Feel free to contact us today and we can recommend what type of hedges or trees you should be planting, ensuring that it is correct for the area. Prior to planting a new hedge where a previous hedge was, we recommend removing the old stump from the hedge using a stump grinder.
